What Exactly is the National Dental Plan?

The National Dental Plan essentially allows you to pay for your treatment in instalments and easy fortnightly payments. It helps you get the dental treatment plan you need right away and pay later without interest.

How Does It Work?

With the National Dental Plan, patients can avail up to $12,000 in treatments and pay them off over time in small, interest-free payments.

The deposit is on the lower end, about 20% or less. Initially, you’re required to pay a $70 fee when setting up your account that’s divided across your payments.

A payment is withdrawn every fortnightly from your account or card followed by an additional $8 monthly fee. This way you’re aware of your payments and when they occur.

Eligibility Criteria for the National Dental Plan

When it comes to opting for the National Dental Plan, you just need to pass a quick credit check. Don’t worry, it’s not too hard.

All you need is a bank account or credit card for payments and must ensure you are:

• 18 years or older.
• An Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Holder of a valid driver’s license.
• Having regular income, whether you work for yourself or someone else, or you get an aged or veteran pension.
